Camp is where we live. What you can expect is a crew that is experienced and helpful. We pride ourselves on great food and hospitality. The cook and wrangler stay in camp to be able to do the daily chores required to support your hunt. They are the backbone of the outfit. Their dedication to providing a clean comfortable camp is the first step in the successful hunt process.
Camp consists of cooking and dining tents, sleeping tents with cots and heaters, a latrine tent is set up a short distance out of core camp.
We pride ourselves on camp cooking. Breakfasts are eggs, pancakes, sausages, bacon, fruit. Lunches are sandwiches with fruit and lots of snacks. Dinner we have steaks, roasts, gumbo, along with veggies a salad, finish it off with a dutch oven desert or pie and you won’t believe it was all packed in on mules.
Mornings the wrangler will light your lantern and turn on the heater about 30 minutes before breakfast. After breakfast and coffee lunches in hand we will ride out of camp to hunt for the day.
It is usually dark when we return from hunting. You have time to put away gear and get more comfortable before setting down to a great home cooked meal. This is when the stories of the day are retold and plans are discussed for the next days hunt.
Communication between you the client and the entire crew is important to make sure needs are being met and you have the best opportunity for success.
